HOMEOPATHIC PSYCHIATRY: The Delusion Rubrics

This is an explanation of Liz Lalor’s unique approach: “Liz brings to homeopathy 29 years of counselling experience in somatic psychotherapy. She reveals, through the mire of words our patients are telling us, the DISTURBANCE OF THE CASE. The video cases presented are suicide cases, severe depression cases, cancer cases, and a huge range of auto immune diseases; these are all mental, emotional and physical states which are reflective of severe inner disturbance. She does not believe that you will find the Simillimum in chronic disease states if you do not recognise the DISTURBANCE underlying the case.” Hahnemann said, in Organon §153, that in the search for a homeopathic specific remedy, that we should concentrate on the “more striking, singular, uncommon and peculiar signs and symptoms of the case.” This is not often taught or emphasized to be as important as it is.

Liz concentrates on video taping the follow up consultations. For the remedy chosen to be correct, the patient must reveal the core Delusion Rubrics which match the remedy, the destruction of the disease and the DISTURBANCE IN THE PATIENT. The video cases she will be presenting are all chronic diseases which contain destruction: autoimmune conditions, cancers, etc.

THE SEMINAR

The striking, singular, uncommon and peculiar are always found within the Delusion Rubrics of the Simillimum. The disturbance in a case which reverberates with "striking, singular, uncommon and peculiar signs and symptoms" is the point in the case taking when the patient reveals how they have constructed their mental and emotional outlook around their first conscious mental and emotional analysis of their lives. Inherent in the medical pathology and somatic presentation of our most serious diseases is internal conflict and destruction. If you want to treat chronic disease you have to be able to find the DISTURBANCE which caused the destruction. Any severe disease state is always a reflection of our deep subconscious struggles; our inner angst. Liz teaches a way of listening to a case that no other homeopath is teaching. She concentrates on the intensity of the "eye of the storm" inside the patient. If you want to treat destructive diseases you can't afford to miss her unique teaching approach; until you know how to find the destruction inside your patient you will not find the "like cures like" or the "destruction matches destruction" core inside your patients.

ABOUT LIZ's book: Homoeopathic Psychiatry

Homoeopathic Psychiatry is the companion to Liz Lalor's 2010 lecture circuit. Homoeopathic Psychiatry is the psychoanalytical study of the meaning and application of the Delusion rubric in homeopathic case-taking and case-analysis.

Homoeopathic Psychiatry is also the study of the psychotherapeutic application of the need for the psychological delusions within each of the constitutional remedy profiles presented in Liz's video cases. Homoeopathic Psychiatry offers insights into the psychodynamic illusions of the mind that each patient reveals within their disease state and their psyche. The video cases presented in this lecture tour come from Liz's thirty years of experience counselling patients. Below is an extract from her new book Homoeopathic Psychiatry. This book is an extensive analysis of the psychological understanding of the Delusion rubrics, work which has never before been presented to homeopaths. This extract includes an example of group and individual analyses of specific Delusion rubrics. "In each video case I will explore the psychodynamic crisis within each patient which is the causation or the 'never-well-since-event'. The original psychodynamic trauma is the primary Delusion rubric and this is always where we start questioning our patient. The role of the homeopath in analyzing the case is to find the causation in the case which forms the primary Delusion rubric, and all the subsequent Delusion rubrics which support their disproportionate view of reality. Chronological events are crucial in case-development. They are important because they show us the cause and meaning of the 'how, why, and when,' of the significant events in our patients' lives. In the cases presented I emphasize repeatedly the need to understand the causation or the 'never-well-since-event'. If these causation events are interpreted by the patient in a way which is disproportionate to reality, then they are events which become a misrepresentation and they form the platform of disturbance which has to be repertorised as a Delusion rubric.

If within the patient's interpretation of their life there is a disturbance which is reflective of inner conflict then there is, in my experience, a primary Delusion rubric underlying the case and the presenting disease state. In homeopathy we do not prescribe on a disease state or the miasmic presentation of the disease state, we prescribe on how the patient has interpreted those events or that disease state in a peculiar and individualistic way. Disturbance within a patient can cause conflict and pain which can eventuate in a physical illness or mental and emotional illness which is reflective of the intensity of the conflict.

The reason why it is important to know the disturbance in a case is because any severe disease state can often be a reflection of our deep subconscious struggles. This disturbance can form the foundation of our inner angst and form the basis of future pathology. The key point I reveal within in each case presented is that the patient has an avoidance of reality which is a psychological delusion. This is the core basis of the use of a Delusion rubric in the case-analysis. In my book Homoeopathic Psychiatry and in the video cases presented I seek to teach how to probe and discover the primary formations of disturbance within the case-studies".
